The bee's revenge

Greenhouse Blues

This was my final project for my drawing class.

The backstory of this piece, is that it was meant to be an object juxtaposed over an environment as if it was placed on the page.

I chose to do a bee as if it is on your face or on the lens of a camera in the environment of a greenhouse. This was partly because I love bees, greenhouses, cloudy days, and rain. But it was also because I once had to put down a hive to prevent a possible tomato virus from spreading in case they got out, turns out my plants never had the virus but we had to be sure. So I put the bees down as humanely as I could by putting them in a cooler with dry ice so that they would fall asleep forever. However, I still feel sad that I had to put them down, so this artwork kinda feels to me like the bees finally getting some revenge or even just a rememberance of them.
